Hendersonville in Henderson County, NC is becoming a place where emerging artists have gathered and opened studios in downtown areas and in their own homes. Like other artists in the community, we accept Art Commissions and sell our paintings in our art gallery in the studio. Our gallery space is also where we offer Hendersonville Art Classes, Art Instruction, original art, gallery space for other artists during art shows and art exhibits. We are located along Main Street among Hendersonville Art Galleries and Studios. Currently we offer day classes but are considering night classes for beginner, advanced, and professional NC artists. We belong to the Art League of Henderson County, Arts Council of Hendersonville, APS, and are listed on NC Arts. Although she works in other media, her first love is watercolor. Following an introductory review of color basics, we will explore techniques needed for adding texture to a painting as well as touch on some of the elements of design and how to achieve overall harmony in our work. Ellison's emphasis is "to give encouragement and tools for participants to successfully paint on their own and to explore their unique vision of the natural world." The person who has never tried to paint in watercolor should not feel overwhelmed; it is a fun medium to work in and this instructor loves to work with total beginners as well as those who are more experienced.
